Wheat Grass Juice has been sold for its health benefits for years. Garden of Life has just released a new Wheat Grass juice product. We asked our sources, “Why Wheat Grass Juice?”
In a recent article, Extraordinary Health Magazine states, “Each shot (of Wheat Grass juice) is equivalent to the most nutritious leafy green vegetables imaginable, but honed into a small amount of concentrated juice made from young, tender shoots of wheat plants, which are just like green, leafy veggies. It’s so concentrated that some say that two wheat grass shots are equivalent to nearly three pounds of vegetables in its vitamins, minerals and live nutrient energy!”
Wheat grass juice is nearly the same molecular composition as blood, so there are good reasons that drinking wheat grass gives many people an instant boost.
According to the Hippocrates Health Institute, “(Wheat Grass juice) Increases red blood-cell count and lowers blood pressure. It cleanses the blood, organs and gastrointestinal tract of debris. Wheatgrass also stimulates metabolism and the body’s enzyme systems by enriching the blood. It also aids in reducing blood pressure by dilating the blood pathways throughout the body.”
In spite of the health benefits, Dr Mercola recently printed a warning about Wheat Grass juice: “It is not uncommon for people who drink wheatgrass juice daily for several months or years to develop an aversion to the taste, or even become nauseated by it. Since it is such a highly detoxifying medicinal herb that can cause cleanse or “Herxheimer” reactions, it’s a good idea to use wheatgrass juice judiciously. When first starting wheatgrass you should only use one ounce once or twice a day, gradually working up to two ounces.”
I find that Most things that are healthy for you, can also be unhealthy if taken in massive doses or injudiciously, however the benefits of antioxidant foods far outweighs the possible dangers, as long as you don’t go crazy.
